The City of Concord is located in the Piedmont region of North Carolina, and serves as the county seat of Cabarrus County.  Concord is the County’s largest municipality, both in terms of land area and population.  In fact, nearly half of the County’s total population calls Concord home.  Concord is part of the Charlotte metropolitan area, and is in close proximity to Uptown Charlotte and numerous employment, shopping and entertainment destinations.

Concord has a well-developed and efficient transportation network.  Interstate 85 is located within the city limits throughout most of its length in Cabarrus County.  I-85 provides direct access to Charlotte and Atlanta to the south, as well as access to Washington, D.C. to the north.  Recent construction of the Interstate 485 “outerbelt” surrounding Charlotte has provided even more favorable connections to the larger metro area.  Interstate 77 provides a direct link to I-40, which serves as a major transportation route to the midwest, along with additional connections to the East and West coasts of the United States.  To the south, I-77 provides access to Columbia, S.C. and I-26 to Charleston.  Interstate 26 intersects with I-95, providing a major north-south connection along the East Coast.

Concord is home to the Concord Regional Airport, the 4thbusiest airport in the State.  Charlotte/ Douglas International Airport, one of the top-rated airports in the nation, is only 30 miles south of Concord. 

Concord is the 12th most populous city in North Carolina with 83,000 residents. In terms of land area Concord is the states's 7th largest city with a land area of 60 square miles. During major NASCAR racing events at Charlotte Motor Speedway, more than 220,000 persons are located within the Concord City limits.

Concord Regional Airport, a general aviation facility, is the 4th busiest airport of any kind in North Carolina.

Concord Mills Mall is the North Carolina's #1 tourist attraction with over 15 million visitors annually.

Rocky River Golf Club, a public course owned by the City, has been named one of the Top 100 courses in NC.

Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord is one of the premier NASCAR tracks in the US. Major NASCAR teams are located in Concord, including Chip Ganassi Racing, Hendrick Motorsports and Roush Racing.
