Airport

Manages the Concord-Padgett Regional Airport - Commercial airline Allegiant Airline provides multiple weekly flights to Florida and New Orleans. 


Buildings & Grounds

Is responsible for supporting the maintenance operations of city departments, grounds, buildings, HVAC, electrical, custodial, vacant lot mowing, street right-of-way mowing, public housing grounds maintenance and operation of city-owned cemeteries.


Customer Care

A division of the Finance Department, responsible for new utility application services, utility service payments, customer service call center.


Electric Systems

Responsible for maintaining the Electric Service for City residents. 


Emergency Communications

Provides a high level of customer service to citizens in times of need quickly and efficiently.


Emergency Management

Prepares citizens for disasters, responds to their needs as situations arise, assists in recovering to pre-disaster conditions and mitigating conditions which can reduce loss.


Engineering

Operates to protect the City's interest in both new development and the operation and maintenance of existing infrastructure. The Engineering Department also provides engineering, technical and contract management assistance to all City departments.


Environmental Education

Concord's certified environmental educator serves all Concord citizens by providing learning opportunities that foster environmental stewardship.


Finance

Responsible for managing the Customer Care department, Budget, Purchasing, Tax Collections, Utility Billing and Collections.


Fire

The Fire department manages 11 fire stations, and 203 fire personnel. Responsible for life-safety education, fire prevention, fire code violations and inspections.


Fleet Services

Responsible for overseeing a fleet of over 1000 vehicles and equipment. Provides various services to city departments including the acquisition of and disposal of fleet vehicles and equipment, management of fuel operations, and the development of city's air quality initiatives in conjunction with regional partners.  


Housing

Provides safe, decent and affordable housing to low-income residents in Cabarrus County.


Human Resources

The Human Resources Department has a full range of responsibilities including policy development and enforcement, employment law compliance, recruitment and selection, employee relations, position classification, competitive compensation, benefit management, employee training, employee development, personnel records management, wellness as well as safety and risk management.


Legal

Provides legal services to the City Council, City administration other City employees and several City boards and commissions. The City Attorney and staff also act as advocates for the City's legal interests before the courts, General Assembly and quasi-judicial bodies.


Parks & Recreation

Provides recreation services and programs, parks and facilities to our citizens to promote a healthy lifestyle.


Planning

Responsible for preparing and administering plans and programs related to residential & commercial development, quality of life, strong neighborhoods, sustainability of the environment, efficient public facilities and services, diverse housing opportunities and effective utilization of the area's land resources.


Police

A full service law enforcement agency with approximately 188 officers. Comprised of an Administration, Patrol and Operations Bureau, overseeing Patrol officers, Criminal Investigations, Special Operations, Mounted Patrol and K-9 units. 


Solid Waste

Responsible for garbage, recycling, bulky and yard waste, loose leaf collection, household hazardous waste, and business garbage and recycling.


Stormwater

Maintains all drainage ditches and stormwater pipes within the City right-of-way. 


Transit

Concord Kannapolis Area Transit (Rider Transit), offers routes throughout Concord and Kannapolis to employment areas, schools, medical facilities, shopping and entertainment destinations, and other locations.


Transportation

Maintains streets, sidewalks, signs, curb & gutter, guardrail, traffic signals, and much more.


Wastewater

Committed to providing a safe, efficient sewer system. Maintains 24 pump stations, 540 miles of gravity main, 12.5 miles of force main and over 13,800 manholes. Rehabs and re-lines gravity main and manholes, Clears right-of-way and easements. Protect water quality, supplement water supply and meet federal standards.


Water Resources

Maintains 8 water tanks and 8 pump stations, 740 miles of water main, approximately 40,000 water meters and over 4,800 fire hydrants, with an average daily demand of 11.99 million gallons.
