Captain Alan Lee is a native of Concord, NC. He is a graduate of Northwest Cabarrus High School and Pfeiffer University. Capt. Lee began his career in law enforcement in 1996 with the Concord Police Department. After being hired, he attended Basic Law Enforcement Training at Rowan Cabarrus Community College. Upon completion of his training, he was assigned to the patrol division.
Capt. Lee has served the department in various positions to include patrolman, investigations, traffic safety, and as the Alcohol Enforcement Officer. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in October of 2006 where he served in the Professional Standards Division as the recruiting and training supervisor. In 2010, Capt. Lee transferred back to the patrol division and served in David District as a patrol sergeant until he was promoted to the rank of Captain in 2014. Lee currently serves as the Commander in Adam District.
Captain Lee received his Advanced Law Enforcement Certification and his General Instructor Certification from the NC Law Enforcement Training and Standards Commission in 2003. He then received a Specialized Driver Instructor Certification from the Commission as well. Capt. Lee is passionate about driver training and currently serves as the department's lead driving instructor. "We have an obligation to the community to set a high standard for safe vehicle operation."
Capt. Lee has attended more than 500 hours of specialized training in vehicle crash and pedestrian reconstruction. In 2004, he became the fourth member of the department to attend and receive the Traffic Enforcement and Investigators Certificate from the NC Justice Academy. His hobbies include fresh and saltwater fishing, camping, and outdoor recreational activities. Lee can also be found at local ballparks watching the Kannapolis Intimidators and Charlotte Knights play baseball.
