COMMUNITY NEWS

City of Concord tax bills will be mailed August 16, 2010
Thursday, August 12, 2010

The City of Concord will mail City property tax bills Monday, August 16, 2010. Tax bills are arriving about a month later than usual due to technological difficulties experienced during Cabarrus County’s scheduled software conversion.

Under North Carolina law, bills are due September 1, 2010, and will not be past due until January 6, 2011. The City continues to have one of the lowest tax rates with cities of comparable size in North Carolina at 42 cents per $100 valuation.

The City of Concord is fully aware of the economic conditions that are affecting our community. In an effort to help with Property Tax obligations, we are now offering a payment plan that will ensure your taxes are paid in full before the delinquent date of January 6, 2011.

By taking advantage of submitting equal payments over the next five months, you will be assured that your City of Concord Property Taxes are completely paid and you will have no concern for forced collection procedures required by law. If you are interested in making monthly payments for 2010 City of Concord Property Taxes, please visit the Tax Collector’s page on our website to download the agreement form.

Whether you pay in monthly installments or all at once, you may choose to pay online by Credit Card or eCHECK, simply mail your payment, or visit our collections office at 26 Union Street, S.

If you escrow your property taxes, your City tax bill is sent to both you and the mortgage company. Once you receive the tax notice, contact your mortgage company to verify that they have also received a notice. If they have not, please promptly forward your tax notice to the company so that they may pay it.

For more information, please contact the Tax Collections Office at 704-920-5216.
