KANNAPOLIS – The cities of Concord and Kannapolis and Cabarrus County are once again partnering to host Viva Verde Earth Fest (VVEF) at North Cabarrus Park in Kannapolis (address is760 Orphanage Road, Concord). The event will take place on Saturday, April 14, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. with a severe weather make-up date on April 21.
Educators, mentors, and community leaders are invited to provide Educational Exhibits to help greater Cabarrus County learn about sustainability, ecology, and green practices. Event planners are also looking for eco‐friendly businesses to provide vendor booths with products and services such as organic produce, fair trade gifts, eco‐fashions, and items made from renewable resources.
Vendors, service groups, and food service providers interested in participating should download and submit a Vendor Registration Form
. A selection committee will choose vendors that fit the mission vision of VVEF. Participating business and for-profit vendors will pay a $25 fee, while non-profit and educational partners may participate at no cost.
This fun, family–friendly event seeks to promote a better understanding of the environment and environmental issues through experiences and education in order to help the public make positive choices to develop and maintain a sustainable lifestyle.
Plans for the event include live music, information booths, nature walks, geocaching, reuse roundup, recycling, plant swap, book swap, arts and crafts, music, children’s activities, paper shredding, food, and more.
Interested vendors, service groups, businesses, and educational providers should fill out and submit the Vendor Registration Form
to Becky Tolle no later than April 3, 2012. Submission instructions are available at the bottom of the registration form.
