Volunteer opportunities available at Viva Verde Earth Fest

CABARRUS COUNTY – Are you in search of an opportunity to participate in a fun, family-friendly community event? Viva Verde Earth Fest (VVEF) is now seeking volunteers to help run the annual event at North Cabarrus Park in Kannapolis (address is 760 Orphanage Road, Concord)in April.

The cities of Concord and Kannapolis and Cabarrus County are once again partnering to host VVEF. The event will take place on Saturday, April 20, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., with a severe weather make-up date on April 27.

Several volunteer opportunities are available, including:

Pioneer: provide quick and effective setup assistance for all vendors, booths, and equipment throughout the grounds prior to the event.
Parking Liaison: maintain a suitable parking area, and assist arriving visitors and vendors.
Greeters: assist in counting each individual that attends the festival. Greeters will also be advised to welcome each individual and direct them to the vendors and information booth, as needed.
Drop Officers: facilitate visitors’ dropping off of recyclable goods at the drop zones.
Wrap Specialist: assist in general cleanup, breaking down of vendor areas, and relocating all equipment.

VVEF is a fun, family–friendly event that seeks to promote a better understanding of the environment and environmental issues through experiences and education. The goal of the event is to help the public make positive choices to develop and maintain a sustainable lifestyle.

Plans for the event include live music, information booths, geocaching, on-site recycling, arts and crafts, music, children’s activities, paper shredding, food, and more. For more information, please visit vivaverdeearthfest.wordpress.com.
