2018 Soccer Skills Assessments 

                           Location: Concord Middle School (1500 Gold Rush Drive Concord, NC 28025)

* Saturday, July 14th from 10am - 1pm 

* Thursday, July 19th from 6pm - 8pm 

* Saturday, July 21st from 10am - 1pm

                    (You can come to any one of three above days and expect to be there for 30 to 45 min)

Your child will be required to come to an assessment if they fall in one of the categories below:
*If your child is new to the Concord Parks and Rec Soccer Program
*If your child is moving up an age division from last year
*If your childs team is not returning from last year (A Parks&Rec Staffer will contact you)

If you do not receive communication from a Parks&Rec Athletic Staff member then you are required to be at one of the above three days. If your child does not show for skills assessments, then your child will be picked at random in the coaches draft.

* 3-4 and 5-6 will not being have a skills assessment. Therefore 3-4 and 5-6 will not be drafted.

Parents Meetings at the Cabarrus Event Arena

You can receive notifications by email and text messages. We do not charge for text alerts and they are optional, but recommended. (Standard text messaging rates do apply, so please check with your carrier to make sure you will not receive charges from your cell phone provider).

If you register your email address make sure you subscribe to the group Youth Soccer. 

You will have to register for alerts at the beginning of each season. This keeps former participants from getting unwanted texts.

This Information Hotline will be updated by 3:30 p.m. Friday afternoons.  If you call the line and it indicates games to start at expected times, a game time decision will be made as to the playing conditions.  You should go to the field to see if your game has been canceled.

3-4 Instructional Division
This division is designed to introduce players to organized sports.  Rules are simplified, team rosters are reduced and playing season is compacted to allow maximum exposure in a limited time frame.  All games and practices in this division are on Saturdays.

5&6, 7&8 Divisions
This division begins developing fundamentals for each specific sport.  Rules are modified to present the optimum playing experience for novice participants.  Practices and games are on weeknights or Saturdays.

9-10 Division
This division builds on basic fundamentals of given sport.  Rules are slightly modified to present optimum playing experience for participants with limited exposure.  Practicesand games are on week nights or Saturdays.

11&12, 13-15 Divisions
These divisions are designed to promote teamwork, sportsmanship and advance fundamental development.  No rule modifications.  Practices are on week nights or Saturdays.

    Instruction before competition.
    No league or individual standings.

    Each child is a winner.
    Practice times are established by the coaches according to their schedule and availability of fields.  Games are held on Saturdays.

    Age is calculated as of August 1 of the registration year.
  • FEES:
    $35.00 registration fee for City of Concord Residents
    $55.00 all other participants
    Registration Sites:  Academy Recreation Center at 147 Academy Avenue, Hartsell Recreation Center at 60 Hartsell School Road, Logan Multi-Purpose Center at 184 Booker Street in Concord.
