Did you know?
Did you know you can attend a free opening reception at ClearWater Artist Studios for "Buy The Ticket" tonight? This just-installed one-woman solo exhibition is one woman’s tale of self-discovery told through a series of self-portraits and audible narrations experienced at your own pace.  Smart devices and headphones recommended. See clearwaterartists.com for details and links to social media, or call 704-784-9535. ClearWater is located in Gibson Village at 223 Crowell Drive NW with plenty of free parking.

By Air. By Land. By Sea. By Charlotte (and Concord!).
The Marines are coming (actually, they are already here)! Many people in Concord noticed military aircraft in the skies this week part of Marine Week Charlotte. While many of this week's events were scheduled in Charlotte, Concord Regional Airport has hosted a variety of Marine Corps aircraft all week. Events will continue through the weekend including hands-on displays, live demonstrations, time-honored Marine Corps traditions, musical performances, and other events to showcase the history, military capabilities, and community involvement of the Corps. For more information, go to usmarineweek.com.

Take a trip to Fair-a-dise
The Cabarrus County Fair opens its gates for the 2018 season on this afternoon and continues through Saturday, September 15 at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center. Fair-a-dise, the theme of this year’s event, invites you to explore the Fair beyond the midway. Fly away inside the butterfly encounter or take a virtual trip to outer space in the Kuriosity planetarium exhibition. Everyone wins with crowd favorites, like the petting zoo, livestock displays, sand castle carving, milking booth and educational exhibits. Live musical performances and local expert demonstrations bring something for everyone. See cabarruscountyfair.com for entertainment details. Gate admission to the Fair is $7.50 for ages 12-64, $5.35 for ages 55+ and those with military ID, $3.25 for ages 6-11, and ages 5 and younger admitted free. Visit cabarruscounty.us for additional details including 2018 Gate Specials.
