Feel good Friday: celebrating service milestones
It's Friday, Concord! This week's Feel good Friday highlights a Team Concord member who began his career working at Disney World! Charles Thompson is a Warehouse Clerk with the Finance Department's Purchasing Division, and helps make sure all departments have the supplies and materials they need to get the job done. Meet Charles and find out more about his approach to service on our Facebook page.

Coming soon: a new and improved CityLink
We have published the CityLink Newsletter as a weekly update on all things happening in Concord since 2009, and in a consistent format since 2010 (click here to see one of our first editions in this format). That's over 500 editions reaching several thousand subscribers. Continuous Improvement and Communication are part of our Core Values as an organization, and we are excited to announce that we are retooling CityLink with an updated name and fresh look, debuting in September. Beginning September 13, we will publish "Concord CityLink" twice each month with the same timely information, news, and events in an improved format. In the meantime, we'll share even more information in between CityLink editions on our growing social media presence, through our Partnership for Stronger Neighborhoods, and on concordnc.gov. Current subscribers will automatically receive the new CityLink and we look forward to many more joining in. Stay tuned next week for a sneak peek.

Curious for an update on the Downtown streetscape project?
We have heard a lot of talk about the Downtown streetscape project currently in the pre-design stage. This includes rumors, which happen with every large project, event, or idea of interest in the community. This week we spent some time on the sidewalk with Kaylee Caton, Design Manager in the Planning Department to find out the latest on the project and sort through all the rumors. Visit our Facebook page or YouTube channel to see what is fact vs. fiction when it comes to the New Union StreetScape project!
