Did you know?
Did you know that Concord was recently re-certified as a Storm Ready Community? As part of this program, staff members from several departments are attending a National Weather Service spotter class that will provide training to identify severe weather and notify the National Weather Service (who issues severe weather statements). The annual Ready Kids Camp, sponsored by the City of Concord and Cabarrus County in partnership with the Cabarrus County Chapter of the American Red Cross, is recognized as a youth preparedness best practice in North Carolina. For more information contact the Emergency Management Division at sellsj@concordnc.gov or 704-920-5528.

Concord City Council to set FY 2012-13 priorities
This week’s CityLink email newsletter is going out a bit early due to the annual Concord City Council Planning Session. Council Members will meet with key staff members tomorrow at Fire Station 9 to receive updates on current year projects and establish focus areas for FY 2012-13. After the day’s discussions, City Council will reach consensus on a goals statement to be adopted at the February City Council meeting. These goals will establish priorities to help staff recommend the FY 20112-13 budget in May.
