Fire hydrant maintenance begins
Over the course of the next three months the Concord Department of Fire and Life Safety will be performing fire hydrant maintenance on all City of Concord fire hydrants.   This maintenance will include removing the caps, greasing the threads, and exercising the operating valve to ensure water can be obtained from the hydrant should the need arise. In addition to this routine maintenance, approximately one fifth of the hydrants will be flowed at full capacity to obtain volume and pressure data. Customers who experience discolored water should allow water to run from a faucet until it clears up. Customers should contact the Customer Care Center at 704-920-5555 with any questions or concerns.
