Come out to Viva Verde Earth Fest TOMORROW!
Cabarrus County's favorite Earth Day celebration is returning for its fourth installment on Saturday, April 20, when the Cities of Concord and Kannapolis and Cabarrus County will host Viva Verde Earth Fest, presented by First Transit (VVEF), at North Cabarrus Park (760 Orphanage Road). The free event will take place from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

VVEF is a fun, family–friendly event held in celebration of the Earth. Visitors can expect to enjoy great live music, food, recycling opportunities, and green market vendors.

Visitors should park across from the entrance to North Cabarrus Park, at the Church of God Children’s Home. Upon parking, visitors will have the option to participate in a free vehicle gas cap check. The parking area will also feature free onsite reuse and recycling opportunities, where the public will be able to drop off the following items: electronics, cell phones, papers for shredding, batteries of any size, and many other household items such as buttons, expired gift cards, leather belts, broken jewelry, yarn, string, ribbon, wine corks, game pieces, keyboards, bottle caps, soda pop tabs, fabric, neckties, frames, maps, books, soup cans and lids, paper towel/TP rolls, t-shirts, and sweaters.

Other plans for the event include geocaching, arts and crafts, children’s activities, and more. In the event of severe weather, the event will be rescheduled for Saturday, April 27. For event details and updates, visit VivaVerdeEarthFest.wordpress.com. You can also find VVEF at facebook.com/VivaVerdeEarthFest.
