City offices will be closed Wednesday, January 1 in observance of New Year's Day. For residents in the Monday and Tuesday collection areas, garbage, recycling, and bulky waste collection by Waste Pro will operate on a normal schedule, while these items will be collected on a one-day delay next week for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday customers. All yard waste, including live Christmas Trees, should be at the curb by 6:00 a.m. Monday, December 30. Cycle three of loose-leaf collection will also begin on December 30 for Tuesday residents. Police seek assistance in locating missing 16 year old
Concord police are seeking the public's assistance in locating 16 year-old Hunter Millikin of Concord. Residents encouraged to join the Public Safety Academy
Applications are now available for the City of Concord’s tenth Citizen Public Safety Academy. The course will allow citizens to learn about the functions of Concord’s public safety departments, meet staff, and help evaluate services. The ten-week academy will begin February 4, 2014 and end on April 8. Consecutive classes will be held each Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. For more information or to download an application, visit concordnc.gov.

Recreational Needs Assessment Survey
The mission of the City of Concord is to partner with our community to deliver services; preserve, protect, and enhance the quality of life; and plan for the future. With this in mind, the Parks and Recreation Department needs your input and assistance by completing a recreational needs assessment survey. Information gathered through this survey will be used to improve the City's recreational facility network. Please take a few minutes to respond; click here to begin. The deadline to complete the survey is Wednesday, January 8, 2014.
 
Register now for adult winter basketball leagues
The Parks and Recreation Department has opened registration for the adult winter basketball leagues through December 31. The registration fee is $375 per team, with men’s open, men’s church, and women’s divisions. The league season will include ten regular season games and a post-season tournament.
