External Agency funding process open through February 27
Each year, the City of Concord grants funding to non-governmental, or "External” Agencies, that contribute to the City's cultural, social, and economic vitality. External Agency funding requests are considered by the City Council under the auspices of the Public Purpose Clause of the North Carolina State Constitution (Article V, Sec. 2(7)). Further guidance by North Carolina Supreme Court case law allows the City Council to choose to fund activities that 1) are within the appropriate scope of governmental involvement and reasonably related to community needs and 2) benefit the general public, as opposed to special interests or persons. Concord is now accepting External Agency funding applications for FY15-16 (July 1, 2015 - June 30, 2016).  The deadline to submit an application is 5:00 p.m. on February 27, 2015. Learn more at
