Winter Storm: Friday evening conditions and service update
The City of Concord has been preparing for and responding to the first significant winter weather of 2016. Crews have plowed (once) and treated (twice) all designated bare pavement routes. Crews will continue to work through the weekend in continuous 12-hour shifts until the streets are clear. Currently there are 11 trucks spreading material, another 3 with plows only, and 1 motor grader in operation. Approximately 210 tons of salt have been applied to streets at this time. Drivers are urged to remain off roads until bare pavement routes are cleared.

Because of the poor conditions of most secondary roadways and the frozen precipitation to continue through Saturday, Rider Transit has suspended service through Saturday, January 23. Rider Transit will continue to monitor conditions and provide an update Saturday afternoon via ckrider.com and the customer service line (704-920-7433) as to the status of service for Sunday.
