TOMORROW: ClearWater's live action spectator painting event
ClearWater Artist Studios invites you to the Third Annual Sun Drop Pound Cake Portrait Paint-Off: Saturday, February 18 from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. Painters are given the challenge of live painting in a spectator-sport setting, nudging them with a short time limit and an audience, to shift how they work. The public is given the thrill of watching blank canvases brought to life before their eyes, by some of the most talented portrait-painters in the region! This free, live-painting event also includes demonstrations by the Southern Piedmont Woodturners, and scrumptious locally-baked cake. Find out more on the Facebook Event Page and sign up on the Eventbrite page, or call 704-784-9535.

Land Use Plan 2030 process underway, public involvement requested
The City of Concord kicked off the Land Use Plan update process in late January, and the first public involvement opportunities of the process are scheduled for February 28 and March 1. With the assistance of Tindale Oliver, the resulting Land Use Plan will provide the framework for land use and development through the year 2030. The existing Land Use Plan, referred to as the 2015 Land Use Plan, was created in 2004 and updated in 2007.

Public involvement is an essential component to this process. In conjunction with Tindale Oliver, the City will conduct the first series of public involvement workshops for this process on February 28 and March 1. All members of the public are invited to attend the open house (3-5 p.m.) and interactive workshop (6-8 p.m.) sessions planned for each these dates. On Tuesday, February 28, come to Fire Station 9 (1020 Ivey Cline Rd), or meet the project team at Cabarrus Brewing Company (329 McGill Ave NW) on Wednesday, March 1. For more information, please visit concordnc.gov/2030 or call the Planning and Neighborhood Development Department at 704-920-5127.
