Did you know?
Did you know that May 6-12 is Municipal Clerks Week? We extend appreciation to all Municipal Clerks for the services with which they provide their communities, especially Concord's City Clerk, Kim Deason.

Municipal Clerks serve as the professional link between citizens, local governing bodies, and agencies of government at other levels. There are many responsibilities of the Municipal Clerk that the public may take for granted; yet, if Clerks are negligent in their duties, then the smooth operation of our local government is greatly affected. The functions of the Clerk require a thorough knowledge of law procedure, administration, and interpersonal relations. To keep up with the constant changes in local government, many Clerks participate in continuing education and seminars and attending Clerk Institutes.

Deason has served as Concord’s City Clerk since 2008, and has been a member of IIMC and the NCAMC since 2006. She has been employed by the City of Concord since 2001.
