Timeline extended for intersection closure in downtown Concord

Cabarrus County has announced that infrastructure complications related to the Downtown Parking Deck project will require extending the intersection closure at Spring Street and Corban Avenue in downtown Concord through August 20. Though the intersection is closed to through-traffic, employees and patrons of local businesses still have access to the area. The work is associated with the construction of the County’s new 614-spot downtown parking deck, on the corner of Corban Avenue SW at Spring Street SW, across from the Cabarrus County Courthouse. Sustainable Suggestion: simple ways you can help conserve water
According to the US Drought Monitor, recent rains have helped pull part of Cabarrus County out of the "abnormally dry conditions" we’ve experienced as of late. Some of the county still remains abnormally dry. Regardless, water conservation is always important and some simple tips can help you conserving this vital resource.

1: If your shower fills a one-gallon bucket in less than 20 seconds, replace the showerhead with a WaterSense®-labeled model. If you’re unsure how, click here.

2: Check your toilet for leaks by putting a few drops of food coloring in the tank. Leave it for 15-20 minutes. If the water in the bowl is colored, replace the flapper valve inside the tank. A 1/32-inch-sized leak can waste 18,500 gallons in a year!
