Highlights of the July 11 City Council Meeting

Presented a Proclamation of thanks recognizing Price Memorial AME Zion Church for their 30th year in the City's Adopt A Street program.


Presented a retirement plaque to Archie Coble for 30 years of loyal and dedicated service to the City of Concord Fire Department.


Recognized Fleet Services for receiving the 2019 Best 100 Fleets of North America Award.


Presented a Certificate of appreciation to outgoing Board / Commission Members Clyde Kluttz and Warren Nance.   


Conducted a public hearing and approved a contract for a three year / 85% tax based Economic Development Incentive Grant to Project Sim to locate at 7075-A Aviation Blvd.  


Conducted a public hearing and adopted an ordinance amending Articles 1 and 6 of the Concord Development Ordinance (CDO) relative to procedures for zoning violations and permit revocation.  


Adopted a policy setting the requirements for citizen requests of street renaming’s within the City of Concord.


Recognized the Hearthwood Homeowners Association into the City's Partnership for Stronger Neighborhoods program. 


Awarded FY20 Neighborhood Matching Grants for Recognized Neighborhoods

Authorized the City Manager to negotiate and execute a two-year contract with Agio, LLC. in the amount of $266,925.12 for cyber security related technology services.


Authorized the City Manager to negotiate and execute a contract with Armstrong Glen, PC for architectural and engineering services relating to the design of the Electric Equipment Shed. 


Authorized the City Manager to enter into a contract with Landmark Structures I, L.P. for the construction of a new elevated water storage tank in the amount of $4,975,000 and execute a contract amendment with HDR Inc. for construction administration services in an amount not to exceed $311,600.


Accepted a grant from the FAA for the purchase of the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) truck and to adopt a budget amendment.


Approved a Letter of Agreement for Concord-Padgett Regional Airport to participate in the NCDOT Division of Aviation Airport Safety / Maintenance Program and to adopted a resolution of commitment.


Adopted a resolution amending the Customer Service Policies and Procedures.

For ages 6 & up, plus and adult. This healthy food swap will have you doing a happy dance! Join our fun family class as we make tasty and healthy recipes. Learn together as we experience Great Greek. High in protein, you’ll be surprised by how many ways Greek yogurt can be used in the kitchen. Class meets Thursday, July 18 from 6:00 – 7:30 PM at David Phillips Activity Center, 946 Burrage Road NE. Class price is per person, youth or adult.
