Interactive workshop on Dorton Park improvements planned for Nov 23
Thursday, November 7, 2019

CONCORD – The City of Concord is developing a Master Plan for Dorton Park that will guide a variety of future improvements to the 24-acre park. Potential improvements include renovating existing facilities, connecting trails to the future greenway, restoring and stabilizing the Afton Run Branch stream, and designating new or expanded features.

As part of the process, Concord Parks and Recreation staff and project consultants are hosting an interactive Community Workshop at the park (5790 Poplar Tent Road) on the morning of Saturday, November 23, 2019.

This event builds upon a previous workshop held in April and will demonstrate revisions made to plan concepts, based on feedback from the community. Attendees will see visual representations where certain amenities are planned within the park. Staff will be available to walk around the property with attendees to explain changes and receive feedback.

All residents and stakeholders are invited to participate. Attendees will learn more about the Master Planning process and participate in engaging and interactive activities designed to produce feedback on creative solutions to enhance Dorton Park. Drop in anytime between 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
