City of Concord Mayor Bill Dusch has ordered that all American and North Carolina flags in the City be lowered to half-staff, beginning immediately until sunset on the day of funeral services to honor fallen City of Concord Police Officer Jason Shuping, who passed in the line of duty late Wednesday night.

"Our prayers are with family, friends, and co-workers of our fallen officer. Jason Shuping tragically lost his life in the line of duty late last night protecting the community he loved," stated Dusch.

As a show of respect, individuals and businesses are encouraged to fly the flags at half-staff for the duration of time indicated.
