Customers should note corrected Blue/Green Solid waste calendar for March

CONCORD – In observance of Martin Luther King Day, City of Concord offices will be closed on Monday, January 15.

Garbage, recycling, and bulky waste collection by Waste Pro will operate on the normal schedule next week. However, all customers are asked to place yard waste at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16. Yard waste will be collected by the end of the day Friday, January 19.

Customers are reminded that all garbage, recycling, and bulky waste must be placed at curb by 6:00 a.m. on their collection day. If items are set out after 6:00 a.m., they may not be located and miss collection. Customers should consider placing items at the curb after 5:00 p.m. the night before, and can visit concordnc.gov/whatsmyday to verify their collection schedule.

Click here for correctionWe would like to acknowledge that the 2018 Recycling & Bulky Waste Calendar originally published in the Winter 2018 City Circular inversed the blue and green colors for the month of March only. A correct calendar, with March starting and ending in a green week, is available in the Winter 2018 City Circular digital edition and at concordnc.gov/whatsmyday. We will republish the correct calendar in the Spring 2018 City Circular and apologize for any confusion.

Rider Transit will operate on a regular schedule on January 15.

City parks and greenways will also be open on the normal schedule. However, the Academy, Hartsell, and Logan Recreation Centers will be open from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. on January 15.

A variety of community celebrations in honor of Martin Luther King Day are organized by the MLK Celebration Planning Committee of Concord-Cabarrus. For information on community celebrations, visit mlkccnc.org.
