CONCORD – In observance of Memorial Day, City of Concord offices will be closed on Monday, May 28.

Per the schedule established by City Council, the historic Gamewell Diaphone at Fire Station 1 will sound one blast at noon on Memorial Day to honor those who gave their lives in service to our country.

Waste Pro's garbage, recycling, and bulky waste collection will operate on a normal schedule next week. However, all customers are asked to place yard waste at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29. All yard waste will be collected by the end of the day Friday, June 1.

Customers are reminded that items set out after 6:00 a.m. may not be located and miss collection. Customers should consider placing items at the curb after 5:00 p.m. the night before, and can visit to verify their collection schedule.

Rider Transit will not operate on Monday, May 28, and will resume normal service on May 29.

City parks and greenways will be open on the normal schedule. The Academy, Hartsell, and Logan Recreation Centers will be open from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. on May 28.
