Concord-Padgett Regional Airport Begins Master Plan Update

Put on your vision glasses!  The Concord-Padgett Regional Airport is beginning the process of updating our Airport Master Plan which is a guiding document for the future needs and development at the airport.

With the help of an FAA grant, Talbert, Bright, & Ellington has been hired to help the City of Concord work through the Master Plan update process following FAA guidelines to produce a report and updated documents and plans that the airport will use for future construction projects that occur at the airport.

On September 26th 2017, A vision session was held with a number of airport stakeholders to kick off the master plan update process. The update project is expected to take 18 months to fully complete and includes a number of items in addition to a Master Plan document.

There are a number of input and comment sessions being planned for user and public input throughout the process.

Master Plan Update Meeting Held on March 29th 2018

Our Master Plan Consultant, Talbert, Bright & Ellington provided an update to the Master Plan process at a meeting for airport users, stakeholders, and the public. At the meeting approved airport activity forecasts were presented for short, medium, and long term years that included enplanements, based aircraft, and airport operations. From that forecast and anticipated aircraft type using the airport, a needs analysis was presented and three proposed development alternatives where shared with those in attendance. These are just alternatives, and more could be added before a final recommended alternative is selected. Having a development plan approved is critical for the airport to receive future grant funds for airport improvements.

The documents presented at the meeting are available to review by clicking on the meeting date link below. The consultant is soliciting comments and questions on these alternatives and requested any comments be addressed to Ms. Judy Elder at jelder@tbeclt.com with the subject "Concord-Padgett Regional Airport Master Plan".

Those at the meeting had opportunities to ask questions and provide input both to the master plan consultant and aviation director.
