Apron Overlay Project to begin May 4th

Apron Overlay Project to begin May 4th - Wednesday, April 22, 2020

The contractor is expected to begin the Apron Overlay Project on May 4th 2020. This project will relocate two taxiway entrances to the general aviation terminal ramp and overlay most of the parking apron with new asphalt.

This is expected to be a three month project and will be done in phases from beginning on the north portion of the ramp and moving south as well as T relocating the entrance taxiways(TWY D and TWY E) located between Taxiway A and the ramp, which will be done first.

The tower will coordinate aircraft in order to avoid those closed sections, and there will be NOTAMs sent out throughout the project. Airport Operations will coordinate with tenants that will be affected during the various stages of the project.

Midland, NC based Sealand Contractors will be the prime contractor for this project. They are the same company that completed the runway overlay project in 2018 and the taxiway overlay project in 2019.
