  • Cabarrus County operates and manages the HHW facility. Services are available to Cabarrus County residential customers only.
  • Latex and spray paint are available to the public free of charge at the HHW Paint Swap Shop. Please call 704-920-3280 for an appointment to look at paint.

Hours of Operation

  • HHW will accept household hazardous materials ONLY on these days/times:
    • 1st Wednesday of each month 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
    • 3rd Saturday of each month 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Facility Location

  • 246 General Services Drive SW, Concord


  • From the intersection of Hwy. 49/Hwy. 601, head south on Hwy. 49 for approximately 1/2 mile and turn right (before bridge) onto General Services Drive. The facility is on the right at the end of the road. Please follow traffic signs.

  • Lacquer, Wood Preservative, Nail Polish, Metal Polish, Polish Remover, Paint Stripper, & Paint Thinner
  • Mercury Thermometers
  • Moth Balls

  • Pesticides, Herbicides, & Rat Poison
  • Pool Chemicals
  • Solvents, Degreasers, Spot Removers, Kitchen Cleaners, Oven Cleaner, Bathroom Cleaners, Upholstery Cleaners, Drain Cleaners, Furniture Polish, Tile Cleaners, & Powder Cleansers

  • Explosives, Fireworks, & Flares
  • Fire Extinguishers
  • Gas Cylinders (except 16 oz. propane cylinders)
  • Medical Waste & Drugs
  • Radioactive Materials
  • Smoke Detectors (send them back to the manufacturer – contact the manufacturer or visit the HHW website for more information)
  • Trash
  • Unknown Chemicals
  • Unlabeled Containers
